School Counselors
Our school counselors help students succeed at Huntley Middle School (HMS) and prepare for success in high school. They meet with students individually and in groups to discuss academic topics as well as social/emotional issues.

Doug Porter has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and theater from Knox College and a master’s degree in community counseling from Argosy University. He also completed the NIU School Counselor Institute program. He enjoys games of all kinds and practices the Korean martial art of Hapkido.

Melissa Lule has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in school counseling from Northern Illinois University (NIU). She is bicultural and bilingual in English and Spanish. She enjoys relaxing in front of the TV and reading good books.

Samantha Bittner has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in school counseling and a graduate certificate in trauma-informed counseling from NIU. She enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors with her dogs.
