Music
Getting involved with band, orchestra or choir at Huntley Middle School (HMS) allows students to explore the exciting world of music. They learn how to play an instrument while making new friends and gaining communication and teamwork skills. Students also get to attend and perform at concerts, music festivals and other activities.
In addition to their band, orchestra and/or choir class, students can participate in jazz ensemble, secondary instrument lab and/or chamber orchestra. Learn more about these and other clubs and organizations.
Band
Band is a class open to all HMS students, and they don’t need to have any musical experience to join. Students learn how to play a wind or brass instrument like the clarinet or the trumpet.
Orchestra
Orchestra is a class open to all HMS students. They learn how to play stringed instruments such as the violin or cello. No prior experience is needed.
Choir
Choir is a class open to all HMS students. They learn to sing together as a group, harmonizing and supporting each other.
Students can also audition to be in the junior madrigal troupe in the fall/winter and/or the “a cappella” ensemble in the spring.
